The beginning!

After being a photographer for a little over nine years now I have finally decided to run with it. I have been taking photographs for friends and family simply because it is something I love to do. After working at a friend's restaurant as a waitress for the past six months I decided that I love being around people but that taking photographs is much more fun then serving food. So with much encouragement from my husband, I took a leap!

I just launched my own website, created this blog and a facebook page. To say it has been busy around here is an understatement. My children are more excited then I am to have the website up and running. They are hoping that now I can play with them a little bit more.

I am excited about this new step. Some may wonder why I need a blog. This is a narration of the stories that I am able to capture with the camera. I love spending time with people and being able to capture their stories with my camera. This is the "behind the lens" narration. I consider this my photography journal. I hope to be able to learn from my mistakes and remember the things I do right. This is an essential tool to making me a better photographer. I have learned much from other photographers' blogs and hope to continue to do so.

I am so grateful for friends and family who have become my portfolio. They have been so great to let me tell their stories. I have had the opportunity to photograph the lives of many friends and family members. It has been so much fun to see how they grow and change. I am truly thankful for all the wonderful experiences I've had and can't wait to have more. I am looking forward to meeting new people and telling their stories.
